One of the users XDA discovered some interesting facts in the source code MIUI 11 softwarethat may apply to an upcoming Redmi series device. Suspected smartphone with a code name "phoenix" that's the Redmi K30. The equipment will receive screen with a large openingin which a double camera was placed, like in the Galaxy S10 Plus, and fingerprint scanner located on the right edge (built into the power button).
MIUI 11 source code refers to the side-mounted fingerprint scanner in the "phoenix" device, as well as in the "picasso" model. This means that Xiaomi may be preparing two new models using this type of solution. The use of a fingerprint scanner embedded in the edge of the device also suggests that the manufacturer decided to use LCD screen because in the case of OLED panels the reader can be hidden under the display.
120 Hz display
It was also discovered that the "phoenix" device would support 120 Hz refresh rate. If Xiaomi actually implements the 120 Hz display in Redmi K30, it will outperform Google and OnePlus – companies offer smartphones with 90 Hz screens.
Of course, there are already devices supporting 120 Hz on the market: Asus ROG Phone 2 or Razer Phone 2, however, these are flagship smartphones, and the price of Redmi K30 may be much more favorable. The high screen refresh rate on your smartphone means smoother interface operation, as well as a better experience in dynamic games.
The device looks very interesting, so there is nothing else to do but wait until next month, then Xiaomi will reveal the cards.
