Give Linux a chance.

Once again the topic related to the blockade of pornography in Poland returns. In December on this topic Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke, who announced the obligation to introduce an effective method to protect children from content that should not be accessible to them. Now, regarding the method of restricting access to porn in our country, the Minister of Digitization, Marek Zagórski, has spoken.

Marek Zagórski in an interview with RMF FM journalist claims that blocking pornography at the level of web browsers is a good method. The Polish Minister of Digitization believes that "you can get along with browser providersso that access to some content is blocked by default ". The said lock could be removed with a special key. At the same time, the solution would be developed next within two months.

The minister wants the new solution to be a universal solution and not only to pornographic websites. In a word, he wants the government to receive a tool to block any site "for the benefit of society." I do not need to talk about the effects of such a mechanism. Of course, none of the creators of web browsers will probably agree to such a thing, but the Polish government may want to create a different solution.

The Ministry's idea of blocking porn via browsers can be put away on the same shelf on which they lie "Fables from moss and ferns". The person responsible for managing the digitization department claims that "browser providers are only a few" and believes that the Polish government is able to force each of them to apply the appropriate solution. Let's skip ignorance at the level of knowledge on the number of web browsers available on the market and focus on which software producer will agree to implement the idea of the Polish ministry. What about those who disagree? Will the Polish government block such a browser in Poland? How will he do that?

The development of an appropriate mechanism has apparently already been commissioned. The Minister of Digitization wants to develop an effective and "anonymous" development of users.

You can watch the fragment of the interview below.

Do you see any effective method to block minors from accessing content that should only be accessible to adults? Or maybe the Polish government will come up with the idea of creating the only legitimate national browser?
